At BDA, this age group is generally taking Primary or Grade 1
Ballet classes on a weekly basis. They will be learning exercises
to develop their coordination, balance, strength, flexibility and
range of motion.

They will work towards taking ballet exams, although these are
not compulsory at BDA - we believe dance exams develop
personal skills, improve technical skills and enhance
performance skills whilst creating a sense of achievement.
We invite parents to watch at the end of every term.

Pupils at Grade 1 and above with a passion for ballet are invited
to join our Bovingdon Ballet Company Class on Thursday in
addition to their usual weekly class.

BDA follows the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD)
syllabus which like the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is the
gold standard for ballet.

Classes are 30-45 mins dependant on level.
