We focus on building confidence, encouraging creativity, developing good, safe technique & most importantly.... having fun!

The Academy was started in May 2013 by Nikki Stewart who wanted to offer something different to all the dance schools in the local area. She introduced a pay-as-you-go ballet class where parents could watch their child enjoy dance without the strains of advance fees & uniform codes behind closed doors.

For the past two years we have been proud to be recognised as Dance School of the Year Finalists.

Saturday mornings at Whelpley Hill

With princess beanbags. fairy wings and wands, the classes begin with the youngest pupils learning the basics of ballet whilst exploring opportunities for creativity and self expression. From good toes to naughty toes and jumps to knee bends,  a series of interactive exercises and a relaxed dress code results in a sea of pink thrills on Saturday mornings in Whelpley Hill. Mini ballerinas start at 9am and classes continue through the morning up to Grade 4 with principal and owner Nikki Stewart.

Saturdays with Syanne Day

Professional Ballerina Syanne Day teaches our Adult Ballet and Contemporary classes at St Lawrence Hall

**NEW Saturdays at Bovingdon Primary Academy**

Not every child wants to be a ballerina and so we are starting new classes from Saturday 15th February at Bovingdon Primary Academy for ages 6+ - Street Jazz and AcroDance. We are also teaching ISTD Intermediate Ballet & Tap here.

Mondays at Micklem School

We offer Ballet, Tap, Modern and AcroDance on Mondays from 4pm at Micklem Primary School in Hemel Hempstead.

Wednesdays at St Lawrence Church Hall

In September 2016, the Ballet Academy became a Dance Academy. Karen Tower joined the Academy and started lessons in tap and modern from 4:15pm. Karen has an amazing way of bringing out the confidence in even the most reserved child!

Thursdays at Boxmoor Primary School

In 2019, our teachers qualified in Acrobatic Arts and we now have 5 successful classes each week. Our Thursday classes are open to children who are not part of the the main Academy (and may attend other dance schools). These classes are hugely popular and focus on strength, flexibility, balance, tumbling and limbering.

Fridays at Nuffield Health Hemel

Classes are held in the beautiful mirrored studios at Nuffield Health on Friday evening. Grade 1 & 2 Ballet and AcroDance with Nikki Stewart.

The Academy's calendar includes an Annual Show in May, ISTD exams in Winter and Summer months, Workshops during the Summer holidays, in house competition in January and fun all year round.
