TAP

There is nothing quite like the smile on a dancer’s face when they put on tap shoes for the very first time and discover they can make music with their feet! Tap is a wonderfully energetic and rhythmic dance style that builds confidence while developing fantastic coordination, timing, and musicality.

At BDA, our tap classes follow the ISTD syllabus, ensuring structured progression, strong technical foundations, and a rewarding sense of achievement as dancers grow in skill and confidence.

Students can work towards tap examinations, although these are not compulsory at BDA. We believe that dance exams help to build personal confidence, strengthen technical ability and enhance performance skills, while also giving dancers a real sense of achievement.

Parents are invited to watch classes once per term, allowing them to celebrate their child’s progress.

Tap dance is also included in our Dance Foundations class on Wednesdays, making it the perfect starter class for our youngest dancers. This gentle introduction allows them to explore a range of dance styles in a fun, supportive environment, helping them build confidence, coordination, and a love for movement from the very beginning.
