LYRICAL

Lyrical dance is a beautifully expressive style that blends the strength and technique of ballet with the freedom and flow of contemporary movement. It allows dancers to connect deeply with music and tell a story through movement, emotion, and performance.

In Lyrical classes, dancers develop:

  • Fluidity, control, and balance

  • Flexibility and strength

  • Musicality and emotional connection

  • Graceful transitions and sustained movement

  • Performance quality and expressive confidence

This style encourages dancers to explore how movement feels, not just how it looks, helping them grow as thoughtful, expressive performers. Dancers learn to use breath, flow, dynamics, and control to create meaningful and captivating performances — both in the studio and on stage.

At BDA, Lyrical Dance is a non-exam-based class, allowing dancers to focus fully on artistry, creativity, and performance development. This gives them the freedom to explore their individuality, build confidence, and develop their unique expressive style without the pressure of formal assessments.

Lyrical is a wonderful complement to ballet, modern, jazz, and contemporary training, and is especially loved by dancers who enjoy dancing with feeling, emotion, and storytelling.
